Our Board Members

The Manawatu Chamber of Commerce Board consists of a range of business-owners located throughout the Manawatu region; they're all dedicated to representing the Chamber through our major projects and improving business to business communication with our members, and other businesses throughout the Manawatu.

Owen Greig - Prostrata - Chairman

My wife Di and I with our four children are committed to the Manawatu. We run a farming operation based in the Manawatu with my role being the Managing Director of the company. Under my strategic direction and management the farm has grown through land and business acquisitions. We have an office in Palmerston North.

We have owned businesses in Auckland prior to the GFC.

I have been involved in other governance roles and am involved in the Chamber due to the passion for business and the desire to see the Manawatu Region succeed. It needs focus and commitment with a long term view.

As a director I bring valuable experience from a strong and varied history, total commitment, energy and a huge drive to succeed.

Edward Teece - New Zealand Pharmaceuticals - Vice-Chair

I moved to Palmerston North in early 2010 to head up Operations for New Zealand Pharmaceuticals Ltd (NZP); a key employer in Manawatu. I am business minded, dynamic and an energetic self-starter with over twenty years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / Health Care Industry. I enjoy networking and building strong mutually beneficial business relationships and am very passionate about our great region. I would welcome the opportunity to support the Chamber of Commerce and work with other Board Members to support and promote regional businesses and assist in creating environmental, sustainable and economic growth for the Manawatu.

Billie Stanley - BDO - Treasurer

I am an NZICA qualified chartered accountant at BDO Manawatu with a strong background in corporate governance, compliance and financial reporting. My financial background will be beneficial in that I have experience with a large range of industries; this experience has allowed me to assist many businesses to achieve their goals and become financially successful. I also have the professional capabilities to assist the chamber with stronger strategic growth and the ability to provide support and advocacy for Manawatu businesses.

Andrew McLean - Craigs Investment Partners - Past Chair

I would like to stay on as a board member of the Manawatu Chamber of Commerce as I am committed to ensuring it grows from strength to strength. I am excited about the way forward and would like to make certain there is continuity on the board to ensure our continued growth and ultimate success of becoming an independent entity for the business community.

Pete Frizzell -  FMG

I have a PhD in Operations Research from Massey University and over 19 years commercial experience throughout New Zealand and England. Currently in the role of Programme Manager at FMG I am responsible for ensuring that our projects and improvement initiatives produce real business outcomes that support strategic business objectives. I would welcome the opportunity to join the board of the Manawatu Chamber of Commerce and contribute to the important role it plays in our local community to support the development of effective communication and networks.

Colonel Hugh McAslan - Linton Camp

Kirsten Harper - Barltrop Graham Lawyers

I have been in practice as a general practitioner since leaving the Crown Law Office in Wellington, where I worked in that organisations Treaty Issues and International Law Team. I changed focus to general practice to experience a more practical and client focused role in the law.

I moved to Feilding in 2010 and since that time I have built a strong and varied client base in the areas of property law, asset planning, and employment law. I also have a number of established commercial clients in both Feilding and Palmerston North.

I am a born and bred Manawatu local who is committed to supporting business growth in our region.

Marty O'Fee - O'Fee & Associates

My wife Bobbie and I have lived and worked in Manawatu for most of our lives except for a 10 years stint where I was based in Whanganui where i was principle of Wanganui Toyota.

During this time I was a Whanganui Chamber Board member for three years, on the organising committee for the Whanganui Business Awards, board member and fundraiser for the "splash" redevelopment, President of Rotary and Chair of the 2012 conference, as well as several other business and community based projects.
On my return to Palmerston North I undertook the role as manager for the Manawatu Jets - re-focusing the brand in the Manawatu sporting and business community.

My focus has and always will be the community and business world in which i live. This with my strong networks combined with tenacity, drive, and superb leadership skills ensures I will be positive in this role.

Paul O'Brien - Asteron Life

As a past local chairman and former Director of the NZ Chamber, my involvement with The Manawatu Chamber of Commerce aligns with a passion to support our business community.

Having enjoyed four decades in my profession, it is a pleasure to be able to still contribute to the Manawatu Chamber. The various business and community boards I am associated with, all benefit from the efforts of our organisation.
