Beef exports hit $3 billion in record season – Media release 24 September The value of total goods exported was $3.7 billion in August 2015, up $197 million (5.6 percent) compared with August 2014, Statistics New Zealand said today. Meat and fruit exports led the rise.

GDP growth in the Manawatū-Wanganui region weakened slightly in the year ended June despite strong growth in the June 2015 quarter. Horizons North-West GDP increased by 2.5% in the year ended June 2015, while Horizons South-East GDP increased by 2.0%. National GDP is estimated to have increased by 3.1% in the year ended June 2015.

Key trends for the quarter were: – Estimated annual GDP growth in the Manawatu region was 2.0% in the year to year ended June 2015. o Palmerston North GDP increased by 2.2%, o Manawatu District GDP is estimated to have declined by 1.4%, reflecting the greater impact of the dairy sector on the District’s economy, o New Zealand GDP is estimated to have increased by 3.1% in the year to June 2015.

Published: Tuesday 04 August 2015 The Palmerston North City Council’s Planning and Policy Committee has recommended proposed changes to city parking go out for public consultation. Recommendations made under the Proposed Parking Management Plan include removing time limits in the Central Business District, reducing or removing parking fees in some areas from next year, and improving parking concessions for SuperGold cardholders.
