Grassroots Rescue Helicopter - Breakfast at the Hangar

This is your opportunity to ask all the questions you’ve ever had about what we do and how we do it. You’ll also hear the most up to date numbers and types of missions the crew attend plus get a first-hand patient story from one of our past patients.

Provided the crew are not called away to a mission you will get the opportunity to have a look through the rescue helicopter and speak to crew.

Your Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter has been known by a different name since first starting operation in 2000. Over this time it has always been the rescue helicopter serving in our backyard and beyond, covering the Manawatu and Whanganui region.

There is a hospital carpark alongside the hangar, this is a Patient & Visitor carpark for the hospital so you are welcome to park there, you’ll need to take a parking ticket on entry and we can give you a validated parking ticket to exit without any cost. We look forward to seeing you there!
